Response to "Clubs cash in on Stadiums" (SUNDAY Sun, 04 December 2011)
Your article "Clubs cash in on stadiums" presents a one-sided affair from the writer and makes no effort to get the perspective of cities and how the whole deal works. Instead it paints a picture of clubs cashing in whilst cities are dishing out money. Mark Gleeson doesn't appreciate that the new stadiums built after the world cup have a far different use and methodology of management than old stadiums.

2010 Host City Close Out Report
The City of Polokwane would like to acknowledge and commend the
many focus areas that selflessly worked through many hours and in
some instances going without sleep to ensure that this 2010 FIFA
World Cup™ was a success. The City ensured that the residents of
Polokwane together with the numerous fans enjoyed a memorable event.
There were numerous role-players that contributed to the success
of this event, the City Of Polokwane, the 2010 Steering Committee,
and the Sports Recreational Arts and Cultural Committee.

Peter Mokaba Stadium Ups The Ante In 2011/2012
The city of Polokwane today unveiled a comprehensive schedule of
major football events to be held at the Peter Mokaba Stadium Complex
in the 2011/2012 season. The stadium secured almost 18 major events
with the majority being the ABSA Premiership League matches involving
Black Leopards FC, Supersport United FC, and Kaizer Chiefs FC.
